It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm with which our Hope Academy graduates are coming back to volunteer with URF during the long holidays as a way of giving back to them community. They are thankful for the education URF has given them.

The graduates are working with URF staff building dry stands in the villages, teaching after school kids, and other tasks. This week they have build 11 dry stands.

Here is what Silver Sliver Mukalazi one of the graduate said: “I don’t how i can thank urf for having helped to complete s6 this year hopefully am going to volunteer with urf during weekends the whole of this vacation”.

URF designs programs that attempt to inspire a spirit of community engagement and volunteerism among young people which is often lacking in Ugandan youth. During their time at Hope Academy, students engage in community service projects every Friday afternoons to expose them to issues facing the community.
