Fundraise for URF

Administrative & Fundraising Internship

Uganda Rural Fund is seeking an organized and team-oriented intern for a non-paid internship position. We are seeking an individual who enjoys multi-tasking and a lively work environment. Above all, we seek an individual who will be passionate about our mission and education development in Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in general administrative office work
  • Assist with e-newsletter editing and distribution
  • Support major donor development and solicitation
  • Research and solicit partnerships with other organizations
  • Assist with special fundraising events
  • Assist grant writers in collecting desired information
  • Assist with proofreading websites and program related documents
  • Help administer the charity’s various fundraising programs
  • May involve corresponding with Ugandan team to obtain desired information
  • Other related duties as needed

Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher
  • Strong knowledge of the nonprofit sector or willingness to learn through research
  • Excellent organization and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team environment both inside and outside the organization
  • Successful at time management and meeting tight deadlines
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Available for occasional evening and weekend work

Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing.

Location: URF Virginia Offices—Richmond, Virginia

Duration: Opportunity is ongoing; start/end dates are negotiable

Time Commitment: 30 hours/week

Stipend: None/Unpaid intern
