Revamped Lab to boost science education at Hope Academy

If you have studied sciences you know how critical it is to have access to a science lab for practical expriements. It’s hard to imagine a student mastering sciences such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics without the opportunity to experience of practical experiments. But this is the reality of thousands of schools in rural Uganda and other parts of the world. As a result, students don’t get to master the practical side of some of the crucial concepts of sciences and end up failing when it comes to national examinations. This reality puts students from rural poor schools at a disadvantage. In the long run, we lose the would-be doctors, nurses, physicists, chemists, etc.

At Hope Academy, we have blessed by a generous volunteer, Amy from Cambridge, with a science background who felted touched by the dire condition of the science lab and called upon her friends and family to support the cause of science education at Hope. Amy raised funds to revamp the science lab. New furniture -tables and desks have been installed. A lot of equipment and chemicles have also been added to the lab.

We very hopeful that the revamped lab will provided access for kids to much needed practical science experience that will enable them to learn and also do well on national science exams. It’s an opportunity for students passionate about sciences to dream big about careers in the science world.

Many THANKS to Amy and everyone who generously contributed to this project. You have made an investment that will be fruits for generations to come for our communities in rural Uganda.
