Medical interventions that save lives in rural communities

URF’s medical intervention model that focuses on preventative care involves medical camps. The camps are organized in various villages in coordination with our village health workers and local authorities.

During April and May 2015, we conducted a series of successful medical camps with help of Dr. Ben Kaster, Dr. Sandra Larson from United States as well as medical student, Saskia Urbani from Germany. More that 600 patients were tested and treated for various illnesses. Common illnesses are malaria, typhoid, back aches, syphilis, diarrhea, HIV among others.
