Medical students reaching out through med camps, health talks, & training village health workers

A team of seven medical students from University of Minnesota collaborated with URF on a successful medical mission During July and August, 2011. They were assisted by three medical students from Makerere University, Uganda.

The team extended the training of Village Health Workers for each village who are carrying health education for preventative care. During their stay, the med students conducted three medical camps which benefited over 350 people.

They also facilitated health talks in schools and villages that URF serves. Basic screenings were done as taking weights and blood pressures for kids and adults.

The students also brought a lot of donated medical supplies for the clinic. Many thanks to U of Minnesota and Makerere medical teams and to everyone who contributed toward this great cause.
