Schools

At URF, we believe that education is the most effective tool to break the cycle of poverty plaguing rural communities in Africa. Our philosophy is to help people help themselves. By empowering the mind, soul, and spirit, our young people gain the skills and confidence needed to take charge of their own destinies and make meaningful contributions to a thriving community in the 21st century and beyond.

Our education model goes beyond classroom instruction. We offer programs that are geared toward the development of the whole person, both in our school and in the broader community. We provide opportunities for adult education, business management, leadership training, community empowerment seminars, AIDS education, parenting skills, first aid care training, and more.

We have established schools and programs to achieve the above objectives. URF Hope Schools include:

Hope Integrated Academy: A secondary and vocational school established in 2008

Hope Junior School: A kindergarten school established in 2013

Hope Vocational Institute: A program for practical trade skills in tailoring and fashion design, soap and jelly production, welding, and agriculture
